Glasgow’s Emirates Arena is the spectacular stage for the latest edition of the European Athletics Indoor Championships, with the venue set to play host to the continent’s best and brightest this weekend.
And fortunately, whether by train, bus or plane, quick and frequent public transport links mean getting to the showcase event could not be easier.
Here’s a rundown of all the options ahead of the big kick-off.
Train
Travel by train to either Glasgow Central or Queen Street Station with Glasgow 2019 official travel partners ScotRail.

From Glasgow Central, take the lower level to Dalmarnock. The journey is approximately 10 minutes long, followed by a 10-minute walk to the Arena.
If you’re travelling from Queen Street Station, take the lower level train to Bellgrove. The train journey is approximately five minutes, followed by a 25-minute walk to the Arena.
Bus
Several bus routes serve the Emirates Arena. Travel from the city centre (for approximately 30 minutes) on routes 61, 62, 64, 255 or 240 and disembark at the Forge Shopping Centre, then take a short 10-minute walk to the Arena.
Cycling & walking
If you’re travelling by bike or on foot, the Emirates Arena is a 10-minute cycle or 45-minute walk from the city centre. Over 200 bicycle parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
The quickest cycling route is via National Cycle Route 75 (Glasgow to Cambuslang) followed by a short on-road cycle to London Road.

Car
At Junction 2A on the M74, take the A74 exit to Tollcross / Cambuslang. At the roundabout, take the exit onto Fullarton Rd / London Rd / A74, then take a left onto the East End Regeneration Route.The fastest route to the Emirates Arena from Glasgow Airport is via the M8 and takes approximately 17 minutes. Spectators are strongly advised to take public transportation to and from the event as there is no parking available at the venue.
